Dossier/Registration

Assent staff has extensive experience preparing REACH registrations, and registration dossiers. Effective 2013 Manufacturers and importers must have registered phase-in substances with volumes of over100 tonnes/year. If you're company has registration requirements Assent Compliance can help.

What is a registration?
Registration means that a manufacturer or importer has provided a registration dossier to the
Agency and not received any indication that it is incomplete. This does not by itself mean that the dossier is in compliance with the legislation nor does it mean all the properties of the registered substance have been identified.

REACH Dossiers:
A dossier is submitted and developed from a set of documents which can include test reports, use and handling documentation and a pre prescribed format. Assent consultants will work with your company to ensure you are compliant with dossier requirements and ensure the registration process is approved and complete. Assent can also serve as an only representative to ensure a complete process.

About REACH Dossiers:
A registration dossier is composed of substance identification data, hazard classification data, manufacture, use and exposure information as well as toxicological and ecotoxicological data (including test reports and summaries) and requires the use of a particular software (IUCLID) to compile the dossier. It is also submitted using a particular web application (REACH-IT).

A Note on SIEFs

When a group of companies all pre-register the same substance, they automatically are put into a SIEF. These Forums were designed to help with the exchange of information needed to prepare a dossier because it was recognized that it would be very rare for one company to hold all the information required for completion of a registration dossier. Consortias normally involve a European industry organisation or at least a group of major players that deal in a particular substance or group of substances. These consortia essentially create a lead registration dossier with all the required information and then any companies who would like access to that dossier pay fees and receive a letter of access. After receiving the lead registration dossier, the individual registrants only have to complete certain sections that are particular to the company and the identity of the exact substance the individual registrant is registering. The lead dossier is submitted first and the joint registration dossier from each the individual registrants is submitted afterwards.
